Happy New Year!
I know many of us are still worn out (or still in the thick of it) from the holidays. It seems like a really bad time, when we all want to just get back to our normal routine, to want to determine resolutions for this next year. We’re tired, our house is a wreck, and we’re a couple pounds heavier thanks to the holiday sugar rush.
But there’s also the tabula rasa — a new year, a blank slate. Time to assess the past year and determine how to improve in the next one. A time to look at the next twelve months with renewed optimism and a fresh outlook. It’s those resolutions that provide encouragement to make the most of the new year.
Here’s to where the roads take us in 2013. And in the words of Medeski, Martin, and Wood — “Let’s go everywhere!”
Tim resolves to read 50 books, run 500 miles, and keep learning Russian (although that’s much harder to quantify) this year. Keep him accountable. Check back here each Wednesday for more Tunes for the Road. And check out his personal blog here.
