Here is a quick tip for all of you BlinkPacking travelers out there. If you plan multi-day trips using overnight buses or trains as makeshift hotels, then you — and your fellow passengers — know fully well that the endeavor can get slightly stinky, especially armpit-wise. Slathering deodorant on top of an already-foul underarm makes even the best of us smell like a NYC cabbie. And nothing can soil a trip quite like the self-consciousness that comes from personal stink.
Enter good, old-fashioned baking powder. The arm. The hammer. Not only will this white powder keep you dry, it actually kills the bacteria that neutralizes odors. Essentially, it has the same effect as a nice, hot, soapy shower.
So tuck a small baggie into your backpack, and sprinkle away the funky Greyhound blues.
